January Goals

Last week I shared with you my goals for 2015.  I’m also breaking these down further each month, reassessing where I need to be and of course learning what is achievable.  That’s the great thing about goals, they don’t have to stagnant.

I’ve broken my goals down into four areas of my life and I have at least 3 things that I want to achieve during the month.  I’m also doing daily goals which at the moment are really simple.  I have a habit of going overboard and then getting completely overwhelmed by the second week.  I’m hoping that with goals it means I have a place to work towards instead of floundering.

Blog

  • Post 5 days a week
  • Post about mental health 2 times a week
  • Reach out for a guest post

Health

  • Eat breakfast
  • Drink more water
  • Lose 8.5kg
  • Exercise 3 times a week

Family

  • Leave the house 3 times a week, including once on the weekend
  • Reduce screen time
  • Reducing amount of takeaway

House

  • 1 wash/fold per week
  • Washing up after dinner
  • Cooking dinner 5x week
  • Kitchen declutter (I’m doing this one with Simplify. Create. Inspire.)

So those are my goals for this month.  I’ll be touching base again at the end of the month to let you all know how it went.

Are you setting yourself monthly goals?

What’s one area of the house that you really want to declutter?

These are some great, realistic goals. Love that you’ve broken them down into areas (and of course that you’re joining my challenge). I have lots of bloggy goals. But my main person one is the simplify thing… My whole life simplified really. So needed.

Great goals Tegan. After falling off the wagon badly towards the end of next year I need to get my eating and exercise under control again and I think breaking down to small goals like this is something I need to do. Feels a bit more doable. My main goal is to lose 12 kilos by my birthday in mid-June and another 12 by New Year, or half a kilo week. I’m the same with going all out with big goals straight up and then getting overwhelmed, so I’m hoping a more slow and steady approach helps me keep it up and make lasting changes. Looking forward to following your process and cheering you on x

Great goals, they all seem achievable. I would love to put weight loss on my goals but with my thyroid condition and current meds I fear this side of things may be impossible and I will just make myself miserable if I watch the scales. Instead I’m aiming to increase my fitness, one day at a time and tone up. Perhaps measuring myself might be a better way forward for me?

Working on my sleep (easy said than done) is also on the top of my list.

Those are all great, worthy goals! I really love how flexible you are being about them too! Like you, I tend to set goals and then end up very overwhelmed early on, and it all falls apart 🙁 I wish you all the best for achieving these goals!

Perhaps, maybe I could do a guest post for you one day? If you are meaning one in regards to mental health? Just a thought 🙂 My blog is only small but I would be honoured to have you write a guest post one day, if you would be interested 🙂

I love the way you have split it up into different sections and nibbling away at them. Your exercising will be much easier to incorporate once D goes to school. Walking to school with him and then you can start challenging yourself on the way home by walking as fast as you can etc. Good luck with it all and I look forward to hearing about your progress xo

Go Tegan, so glad you have broken your goals into steps, I know you will nail them! I agree with the others, if you walk to school & back plus do your fitness sessions you will be in your bathers in no time. Speaking from experience you need to meal plan if you cook 5-6 times a week otherwise you run out of ideas/food. I sometimes I cook a roast lamb or chicken in the slow cooker or oven for one meal, then the next night make a curry/chicken soup/stir-fry with the left overs. Or lamb & sweet potato curry/casserole in the slow cooker and freeze for later in the week if you don’t want the same meat two nights in a row. Good luck Tegan-we are all here supporting you xx

Great goals. I’m going to look at your kitchen declutter link – sounds great and just what i need as we get ready for a house move. Good luck with it all, sounds super positive but manageable too 🙂

Thanks for linking to #TheList xxx
