Hi there. Welcome to the first week of Sunshine Sundays, being hosted here on Musings of the Misguided. Zanni has lovingly handed over the reigns as she chases her dreams and creates beautiful things with her family. Her and her husband are seriously talented people…go and check out what they have been up to here.
The beach and by extension, sand is one of the things that always bring sunny days to mind. Even when it is cool, as long as the sun is shining (and sometimes when it’s not) the beach is a place that helps bring me peace.
Last weekend we took Mr 5 to the beach. Paul decided the night before that we would go to a little fishing spot and let Mr 5 try out his fishing rod in calm water. He had tried it out in the waves, but he was much more interested in building sand castles with Mummy.
It was a beautiful day, perfect weather for the beach. The sun was hot, and the water was glorious. The fish were also biting. We were only at our little spot for 10 minutes when there was squealing from Mr 5 because he could feel a tug on his fishing line.
The first fish of the day went to Mr 5. There was a lot of excitement and a little fear as the fish flitting around on the line scared Mr 5. It wasn’t enough to wipe the grin off his face though!
I sat in the shade with my toes in the sand. I love watching Mr 5 and Paul doing their father and son stuff. I love watching their relationship develop. It’s really a site to behold.
When was the last time you put your toes in the sand? Do your kids love the beach?

Beautiful, Tegan. It was actually yesterday. What a feeling. Sorry I couldn’t get my act together for your first week of sunshine sundays. Will definitely join in when I can 🙂
Delighted to see you are carrying on the Sunshine Sunday. It is lovely to find more sunshine in our days. I have linked up an old post but next week I am keen to join in. Enjoy your Sunday x
Well done Mr 5 I love that you find the beach so peaceful. It is my favourite escape also.
Love what Zanni is up to, I’ve liked the page.
Your lovely beachy day looks so idyllic. I love the idea do the beach, and I always like to live close by, and I even love to swim in the ocean, but I am one of those weirdos who hates the sand! A nice walk in it is ok, but sitting around on a beach all day is not my thing. Sand gets everywhere haha!
Thank you for taking up the link up , and sorry I was late getting here! X
Gorgeous post Tegan.
I can’t believe I never heard of Sunshine Sunday before!! Love it!!
