Welcome to The Lounge! Grab a drink, settle in and get ready to share a story. This week the theme is freestylin’ so it’s up to you what you link up! Remember to comment on other posts, and share the comment love. This week I am doing a bit of a mish mash of what has been going on in our life at the moment.

If I ruled the world
Public education isn’t free
Next Tuesday Mr 5 is off to start Prep. We have the giant pile of stationary needed, all the books and the copy paper. Yep that’s right, copy paper. The government is funding public schools so poorly now that parents have to provide paper for the school. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t begrudge the school for asking for it, but I do side-eye the government for letting it happen. On social media over the last week or so there have been a few posts talking about the needs for starting school. There are different pieces of technology, requested brands and sometimes a list as long as your arm of stationary that needs to be bought. There’s also a lot of misinformation about those needs and a lot of complaining.
Boredom Busting
I have a bit of a confession to make Loungers…this weeks prompt is a completely selfish pick on my part so I really hope that someone has some boredom busters for us!
Mr 5 isn’t at school yet (he missed the cut off by 19 days!) so school holidays don’t have a direct impact on us yet. Beside the parks being that little bit busier, it’s business as usual here as Mr 5 goes to a daycare with a Kindy program. I really felt for the parents of school kids here this week as the weather has not been accommodating to outside play at all. Apparently the rain is due to return on the weekend too!
