This week the prompt for I must confess is Santa photos. This yearly event and I have a bit of a love hate relationship. I love getting them done. I hate that I have to be in them every year. This year I hoping will be different, but I’m definitely not holding my breath.
I’ve written a post about out Christmas photos so far and while I’m not happy about being in the last few years, I am glad that I did them. They make a great Christmas Present for Grandparents, especially when you can get a disc of the photos to print out yourself!
I also haphazardly take pictures to use on Christmas Cards. The first year was the easiest…then Mr 5 just wasn’t really into it. I got some cute pictures out of it though!
I also love making collages to compare how much Mr 5 has grown through the year. Like this one of him after we had finished putting up the tree.
Of course it wouldn’t be a Santa Photo unless there was one of me when I was a kid. This photo was taken in the same shopping centre that I get Mr 5’s done now!
Do you take your kids to have their photo taken with Santa? Have you managed to not being in the photo yet?
I would have shared some of mine as a child too but my mum has all those photos – will have to get them off her next time I visit. I’m hoping to share some more of the kids’ too – just have to find where I’ve saved them on the computer. For an ex records and information manager I’m pretty crap at managing my own records!!!!
14 years of Santa photos and not one issue and I do not thankfully appear in any of them. Two years ago now, my girls refused to continue the tradition. The first year, I insisted on just a photo of them in front of the tree in pretty dresses, so I at least had a photo to send their grandparents. Last year, I gave up.
I’ve never had a photo of me with Santa. I don’t get it, so I’ve never had my children photographed with him either.
So for the past two years it’s just been the kids but we’ll see how it goes. I’m a bit over it all really – if they don’t smile I don’t care, I just want natural shots. Love seeing your photo progressions!
My kids are past the Santa photo stage now well and truly. And you know what, I love the pic where I am in it too, can’t believe how young I looked – so even though you hate it now, you will like those photos with you in them in years to come – because let’s face it, as doting mums, we are usually the ones BEHIND the camera not in front of it!
Being a ‘grown up’ and having moved out of Mum’s place AND having no kids Santa photos aren’t on the books. Maybe I can con Mr Sparky into a Christmas photo of some type.
what great pics, and it must be wonderful to look back over them as the years pass to see how much he’s grown!
